During the 2021 COVID-19 lockdown,

I explored how to maintain the intimate act of tattooing under strict social distancing. My question was simple: How can I tattoo from 3 meters away?

This led to a series of performances using extended tools — tattoo machines taped to long sticks or suspended in the air. The resulting tattoos

were created through random, uncontrolled motion.

The body became a canvas for chance, distance,

and constraint.

This project is both graphic research and performance.  The skin is randomly marked, through movement, gravity and pressure. This may be reminiscent

of action painting.
